Accessibility
Everyone gets
the same chair
We want every person to be able to find us, read our prices, meet the barbers, and book a cut, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Here's how we approach that, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.
Our commitment
High End Fades Barbershop is committed to making this website accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens in a new tab), Level AA. Those guidelines are the widely used standard for making web content usable by people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have limited mobility, or use assistive technology such as screen readers.
What we've done
- The whole site can be navigated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "skip to main content" link.
- Text meets or exceeds WCAG contrast requirements against its background.
- Images carry text alternatives. Decorative ones are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Pages use proper headings and landmarks so assistive technology can move through them.
- The background video on the home page has no sound, carries no information, and can be paused. It does not autoplay for people who have asked their device to reduce motion.
- Links that open in a new tab say so to screen readers.
- Buttons and tap targets are sized for touch.
- The site is built to be readable at 200% zoom and on small screens without sideways scrolling.
Booking, and a phone alternative
Online booking is handled by Booksy, a third-party service we don't control. If any part of Booksy is hard to use, call the shop at (972) 807-2208 and we'll book you over the phone. Walk-ins are welcome every day we're open. The map on our Visit page comes from Google. The address and hours are written out in plain text on that page too.
How we test
We check the site with automated accessibility tools and by hand: keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader passes, and mobile testing. Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a one-time box to tick, and we re-check whenever the site changes.
Tell us if something's off
If you run into anything on this site that's hard to use, or you need information in a different format, let us know. Call (972) 807-2208 or come by the shop at 2309 Guthrie Rd, Garland. Tell us the page and what went wrong and we'll fix it as fast as we can.
